In conjunction with Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, Limestone College has developed a comprehensive emergency preparedness program to deal with Ebola and other infectious diseases, officials have announced.

In the wake of concerns about Ebola on campuses across the United States, Limestone’s Crisis Response Team has finalized the guidelines specifically related to infectious diseases.

The Limestone Health Center staff and Athletic Trainers are aware of exposure risks, signs and symptoms of Ebola and are prepared to follow recommendations from the CDC.

As part of its policy, Limestone has also developed an emergency communications plan for parents, the community, and the public during and after an infectious disease emergency.

The safety, security and well-being of students, faculty, staff and visitors are a top priority at Limestone College, officials said.

According to the CDC, the 2014 Ebola epidemic is the largest in history, affecting multiple countries in West Africa. CDC and partners are taking precautions to prevent the further spread of Ebola within the United States.
