Pennie D. Hughes
Registrar and Director of Academic Advising
I joined the Limestone family in October 2003 after leaving a job with the South Carolina Department of Transportation. Serving as Registrar at Limestone University gives me great pride. The opportunity to assist students in realizing their dreams of obtaining a college degree is something I take very seriously. At Limestone, we are a small, close knit family, and our faculty/staff and administration are here to support the students in all aspects of college life.
I have been employed by Limestone University since October 2014. Although I did not attend Limestone, I have always been a part of the Limestone community as I have lived in Gaffney my entire life. I take much pride in helping the students of Limestone. Education is so important in today’s world and it makes me proud to say I have a little part in helping our students reach that goal.
Associate Registrar of Curriculum and Advising
Being a Limestone University Alumni, I take pride in helping students accomplish their hopes and dreams of completing their college degree. I graduated from Limestone University with 2 Bachelor Degrees as well as my Master’s Degree in Business Administration. I started my career at Limestone in April 2008 and it is a true privilege and blessing to now be serving Limestone University as Associate Registrar. Limestone University truly values their students and I am so very blessed to be a part of this family!

Limestone University has always been my stomping ground, as I grew up a few blocks from The University, and would often ride my bicycle around the campus. I used to take dancing lessons starting at the age of four, continuing all the way up through my senior year in high school, and the big highlight of our yearly dance recitals were always held in the Fullerton Auditorium. As a child, I would often tell my friends, “One day I am going to work at Limestone University.” I joined the Limestone family on January 4, 2010, after leaving the Cherokee County Public School System, where I taught 5 year kindergarten for 10 years. I like to say that I finally graduated from teaching 5 year kindergarten, to educating college students! I’m very proud to be a part of the Limestone family.
