Early Childhood Education

If you enjoy the charisma of children ages birth to 8 years old, then a degree in Early Childhood Education could create a career path for you! Limestone college offers a dynamic teacher preparation program that leads to a BA in Early Childhood Education and a rewarding career working with children in Pre-K - 3rd grade!

Educator Preparation Experiences

Practice: Limestone's Early Childhood program will provide students with multifaceted hands on experiences from pedagogy to practice! The field experiences include: assisting teachers in day care centers, elementary schools, parochial schools, community programs, special education settings, and off campus early childhood related field trips embedded in the coursework! The Limestone teacher education program is rich in experiences!

People: As a result of the low student to faculty ratio, the program is shaped by a "people-centered" environment that ensures students are provided with personable instruction and professional mentoring needed to achieve the goal of graduating and being ready on day highly qualified teachers! The Limestone teacher education program is rich in relationships!

Placements: The Early Childhood program includes three clinical experiences. However, the capstone experience of the teacher education program involves a 12 week field placement! During this time students get to live out the love they have for teaching with the professional guidance of certified educators and professors who were also once classroom teachers! The Limestone teacher education program is rich in mentorship!

Professors: Twice per year in the spring and the fall, the early childhood students and professors come together for a meet and greet to spend quality time together. The goal is to learn more about each other, leverage connections, enjoy a meal together, encourage one another, and stay committed to the call of teaching! The Limestone teacher education program is rich in connections! Contact Dr. Teresa White for more information!
