Scholars_Dollars_chocolates_WebImage_copyIf you crave chocolate sensations and are inspired by making a meaningful impact on the lives of others, you can literally have your cake and eat it too while dancing the night away during Limestone College's Scholars, Dollars & Chocolates Scholarship Banquet scheduled for September 30 at 7 p.m. in the Broad River Electric Cooperative auditorium (811 Hamrick Street, Gaffney).

Now in its fourth year, Scholars, Dollars & Chocolates can make college education dreams a reality for Cherokee County students.

"Every penny raised through the banquet supports the Cherokee County Scholarship Program," said Tisha Thompson, Director of Development at Limestone."Through the program, we are able to award each Cherokee County day student attending Limestone $1,500 annual scholarships based solely upon their county residency.

"During the 2009-2010 academic year, we provided 145 local students with more than $185,000 in scholarship aid. These funds make an even greater impact considering the challenging economic times the nation is currently experiencing."

The scrumptious homemade chocolate desserts are just that: homemade by Limestone College Cherokee County alumni. The banquet will also feature the Cherokee County-based Iron City Band, a dance floor, and posh door prizes.

Individual banquet tickets are $25, and can be purchased by contacting Thompson at (864) 488-4618 or via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The event is also an excellent opportunity for corporate sponsorships. For $500, corporate sponsorships include a corporate table with organization name displayed, tickets for six guests to be seated at the corporate table, a half-page advertisement in the banquet printed program, and inclusion in follow-up promotion.
