Ron Rash to Give Public Reading of One Foot in Eden at Limestone

One_foot_in_edenAuthor Ron Rash will visit Limestone College to give a public reading of his award-winning book One Foot in Eden on Tuesday, August 30th, in Fullerton Auditorium. The reading, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public and will include a question and answer session.

After the reading, Rash will be available for book signings, including those of his latest book of poetry Waking (Hub City Press), which is being specifically scheduled for release that same day to coincide with his visit to Limestone. The Limestone College Bookstore will have copies of both books available for purchase at the event.

The reading of One Foot in Eden, which was named the Appalachian Book of the Year in 2002, is of particular importance to members of Limestone's freshman class, who are reading the book as part of their freshman seminar.

"We selected One Foot in Eden for our freshman reading project in part because the narrative addresses choices, and the consequences of those choices," said Dr. Karen Gainey, Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Limestone. "One character in particular gives his perspective of returning to his hometown after attending college and noticing the different perceptions the townspeople now have of him."
