During Thursday's program, Limestone awarded faculty emeritus status to three of its faculty members-Jay Adams (computer science), Dr. Al Kovelsky (chemistry), and Dr. Tom Thomson (history)-who retired at the end of the Spring semester.

In Friday's program, an honorary degree of Bachelor of Arts was presented to the mother of Limestone student Shanon Nicole Coleman of West Columbia, SC. Shanon tragically lost her life in early March when she was struck by a car while crossing an intersection. "Shanon was taken from us prior to completing all of her degree requirements," said Limestone President Dr. Walt Griffin just before presenting the degree to Dina Coleman. "She would have graduated at this commencement and planned to continue her education in the field of musical composition."
