Mail Delivery Services
USPS (United Postal Services)
All USPS mail is delivered to the Campus Mail Center by 9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. After the mail is delivered it may take the Mail Center approximately one to three hours to sort and distribute, depending on the amount and the time of year. For routine mail pick-up, please refer to the hours of operations (10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.). An earlier attempt to pick up mail from Mail Center staff disrupts the processing of mail, so students, faculty and staff are asked to observe regular operating hours. Urgent cases will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Mail Center Manager for assistance.
Please have your mail addressed correctly by having your mailbox number on the mail pieces. This will speed up sorting and distribution time. Please keep in mind that if the mailbox number is not on the mail piece, that mail is the last mail to be processed and may even take an additional day.
When a student receives a piece of mail too large for the mailbox an email notice is generated and sent to the student’s Limestone email account. The only time a student will be called is if they receive flowers or a perishable package. Students must have their College ID in order to pick up packages, no exceptions. The Campus Mail Center cannot store packages for extended periods due to the large volume of packages received daily. If a package is left unclaimed for five business days, a second email will be sent. Packages not picked-up five business days after the second notice (10 days total) will be returned to the sender.
Unidentified Mail: Your mail and packages are very important to us, and we take every step to identify the receiver of the mail/packages. If we are unable to identify the receiver of the package, we will hold the package for 72 hours before returning the item to the sender. If a return address is not provided, the item will go to a "dead letter" bin for 60 days.
Outgoing mail is picked up at 2:30 p.m. Any mail dropped off after that time will not be mailed until the next business day. The Campus Mail Center is not a post office; therefore we cannot postmark or round date your mail. The Mail Center also sells a variety of stamps.
Letters that need special handling and all packages need to be taken to the local post office located at 1208 W. Floyd Baker Blvd, Gaffney, SC. These pieces will require a tracking number and the Campus Mail Center cannot provide that service. We only sell postage stamps.
UPS (United Parcel Service): UPS arrives once a day. There is no set time when they arrive and it depends on the time of year and the size of the load. The Mail Center also has a scheduled daily pick up and students are able to use this service only if the package has a prepaid label. The Campus Mail Center is unable to send packages without a prepaid label. If you would like to ship via UPS, please go to UPS.com and process a shipping label and pay with a credit card, then bring the package to the mail room by 2:00 p.m.
Federal Express: There are three different types of Federal Express services: Overnight, Ground, and Home Delivery. There is no set time when these couriers arrive and it will depend on the time of year and size of load. Students may also leave FedEx packages at the Campus Mail Center if they have a prepaid label. The Campus Mail Center is unable to send packages through FedEx without a prepaid label.
