Refund Process

The date reflected on the Disbursement Tab on the Financial Aid web site for your awards is when the award information is disbursed from the appropriate sources.  The Business Office will post these funds to students’ accounts once the Financial Aid Office has completed their process and the information is received. 
            If you are charged for 12 credit hours or more, you will be eligible to receive the full loan disbursements for the semester.  If you are only charged for 6 credit hours, you will be eligible to receive only one of the loan disbursements.  If you are charged for less than 6 credit hours, you will not be eligible to receive any of your loan disbursements and must pay the balance you owe. Loans will only be disbursed for the amount listed on each scheduled disbursement date.
            If you are to be issued a refund on the scheduled refund date, your student account will reflect a transaction description of “A/R Refund Check".   This description is a default coding used in our system.  Your refund will be issued to your preferred method that you have chosen with Higher One.  Refunds are disbursed according to the dates listed on the refund schedule.  Due to the privacy concerns, we cannot discuss refund amounts or an anticipated refund date via telephone.  You are required to check your course and fee statement in the LC Portal for you refund amount.
            If your financial aid package includes a Parent Plus loan, your refund up to the amount of the loan will be refunded to your parent(s).   Anything above the Parent Plus loan will be refunded to the student.  If you submit a company letter, military TA or Vocational Rehab form to be invoiced by Limestone College, payment must be received from the source in order to receive the full refund of your financial aid that has been disbursed to your account.  Once your invoice is paid you will receive your refund on the next scheduled refund date if your account reflects a credit at the next scheduled close of business date.  If you have a specific question, concerning your refund you may e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. ACCOUNTS ARE AUDITED FOR ACCURACY BEFORE REFUNDS ARE ISSUED.  IF A QUESTION ARISES CONCERNING THE ACCURACY OF THE AMOUNT OF YOUR REFUND, THE REFUND WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL VERIFICATION CONCERNING THIS IS RECEIVED FROM THE APPROPRIATE DEPARTMENT.  ONCE THE BUSINESS OFFICE HAS BEEN NOTIFIED FROM THE DEPARTMENT THAT THE REFUND AMOUNT IS CORRECT YOUR REFUND WILL BE ISSUED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  IF ALL FINANCIAL AID DISBURSEMENTS ARE RELEASED TO YOUR ACCOUNT AND ALL REFUNDS FOR THE SEMESTER HAVE BEEN ISSUED, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLIED TO YOUR ACCOUNT.
