The Bachelor of Arts in Music provides a broad base for a number of careers in music, but is primarily intended as preparation for graduate study.
The Bachelor of Arts in Music with emphasis in Jazz Studies provides a range of knowledge and experience in the jazz idiom, and may be preparation for graduate studies for one who wishes to teach in this area at all levels.
The Bachelor of Arts in Music Education provides the essential training, knowledge and skills necessary for a teaching career in choral, instrumental, or general music.
The college also offers a minor in Music. Students who minor in Music will have an opportunity to continue the enjoyment of and participation in Music.
To earn a degree at Limestone College, students must meet a General Education requirement. The General Education requirement covers the basic areas of academic study which the College considers essential for a well educated person.
For the Baccalaureate Degree, the requirements include:
- 12 semester hours in Social Sciences
- 18 semester hours in Fine Arts and Humanities
- 13-14 semester hours in Natural Sciences and Mathematics
- 2 semester hours in Physical Education
