Selected members for the Middle School and High School Honor Band Clinics will receive quality instruction, lunch and dinner in the Limestone College Dining Hall, an honor band tee shirt and braclet, a free concert, and the opportunity to perform with students from around North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
How to be selected into the Honor Band: Band Directors will nominate their students for the Honor Band programs using one of the two forms below. Please note that the Middle School Honor Band Clinic is November 19-21, 2015, and the High School Honor Band Clinic is January 28-30, 2016.
Limestone College Scholarship Competition for High School Honor Band Clinic Seniors: Senior High School Honor Band members will also be allowed to participate in a Scholarship Competition during the clinic. The winner will be provided with a $20,000 music scholarship to Limestone College.
To be eligible for the comptition students must:
be a current high school senior;
be selected to participate in the 2016 Limestone College Honor Band Clinic;
register as a compeditor on their Registration Form PRIOR to arriving for the Clinic, and;
have a solo prepared for the competition. Compeditors are to use the state All-State solo, or an appropriate, equivalent, repertoire selection. No accompaniment will be provided.
Winners will be determined by a combination of scores from: 1) sight-reading scores during chair placements on Thursday evening, and 2) the faculty scored assessment of the solo performance. Any questions regarding the Scholarship Competition may be directed to
