    To expedite admissions submit transcripts electronically through Parchment or National Clearing House. Out-of-state applicants with 12 or more post high school college credits are not required to submit high school transcripts. If the applicant has graduated from a South Carolina high school or is a South Carolina resident, an official high school transcript or GED transcript must be submitted to the Online Admissions Office.

What are the requirements to enter an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program at Limestone?

To begin a degree program at Limestone University, you must:

I’ve never taken a class online. What is it like?

Courses in the Online Program have the same content as the traditional classroom courses. The only difference is that the course material is delivered within a virtual learning environment called Canvas. All of the information for the course – lectures, assignments, discussions, exams and more - is housed in the online learning system. Once you have enrolled in an online class, you will receive Canvas training and your log-in information.

In online courses, there are no specific times that the student must be online, but normally the professor will have specific “office hours” available for discussion with students.

Our program is designed for students to focus on one to two courses every 7.5 weeks.

How much does it cost to attend Limestone’s Online program?

Yes, in general, students can transfer up to 76 semester hours from regionally accredited two-year colleges and up to 90 hours from regionally accredited four-year colleges to pursue a Bachelor’s degree.

My company offers tuition reimbursement; can I use those funds to pay for my degree at Limestone?

Yes, if your employer offers reimbursement for college classes, then you can use these funds to finance your degree. Under Limestone University’s policy for company reimbursement, tuition may be paid after employer reimbursement is received. To enroll in a class, a student must provide a letter from his/her employer indicating company reimbursement.

How long will it take to get my degree with the Online program?

The time it takes to complete your degree depends on several factors. Once you have been accepted to Limestone, your Advisor can help you map out a plan with a timeline to finish your degree.

  1. If you have previously attended another college, you may transfer up to 76 semester hours from regionally accredited two-year colleges and up to 90 hours from regionally accredited four-year colleges to pursue a Bachelor’s degree.
  2. In addition, students may earn credit by taking nationally developed examinations or by Limestone University developed tests. Limestone University accepts credit based on the Advanced Placement Exams (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), and Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support (DANTES) Subject Standardized Test (DSST).
  3. You must obtain a passing score on these tests as recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE). A maximum of twenty-five percent (25%) of all degree requirements may be earned by credit through examination. A Bachelor’s degree requires a minimum of 120 credit hours and an Associate’s Degree requires a minimum of 62 credit hours.

Will I need to be online at designated times?

No, Limestone University’s Online program is designed for working adults who need flexibility in their schedule. There is no need to log-on to the internet at any specific time, as long as you log-in each week to receive and complete your assignments. The courses are flexible allowing you to complete the coursework at your convenience during the 7.5-week term.
