Students must register with Accessibility before accommodations may be provided. Through an interactive process between Accessibility staff, the student, and review of documentation, an accommodation letter is written and sent electronically to professors. There is never a fee for accommodations.

Because each person's situation is unique, the Accessibility office simply asks that any interested student meet with us. Documentation requirements vary by situation. The Director will talk to the student about documentation during the initial conversation.  No student should delay meeting with the Accessibility office out of concern for not having appropriate paperwork.

Accessibility Policies and Procedures

  • Dietary Accommodations Application Guidelines

Students attending Limestone College who seek dietary accommodations must qualify in keeping with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and its amendments. Qualifications and reasonable accommodations are determined by the Office for Accessibility.

    1. Apply annually for dietary accommodations through the Office for Accessibility:
      1. If you are not registered as a student with disabilities, you must register and qualify for disability services. The following components are required for the process:
        1. Complete the Accessibility Registration Form.
        2. Provide documentation from a qualified professional.
        3. Meet with Accessibility staff to discuss your needs. You may also be asked to meet with the Sodexo dining hall manager to discuss dietary accommodations.
      2. If you are registered as a student with disabilities:
        1. Notify Accessibility of your intent to apply for dietary accommodations (email or in-person.).
        2. If necessary, provide any additional documentation requested by Accessibility to support a dietary accommodation request.
      3. This can be done at any time, but accommodations are not retroactive.
**Note: While suggestions for accommodations and service will be considered, appropriate services and/or accommodations will be determined by Accessibility based upon information submitted through the Registration Form, interview with the student and documentation/diagnoses.
    2. If a student qualifies for dietary accommodations, a form is completed by Accessibility and signed by the student. This form is submitted to the Sodexo dining hall manager, who will assist the student in implementing his or her dietary plan. Confidentiality will be maintained as to specific disability information.
    3. Students with approved dietary plans are asked to meet with the Sodexo dining hall manager to develop an implementation plan specific to their individual needs. This plan will be distributed to the student and the dietary team
    4. Documentation for temporary or acute disabilities must be regularly updated as appropriate to the nature of the disability.
